Eight Months Old Today...!

Dear Elijah,

Today you are eight months old... Wow... Look at how happy and healthy you are...! You have been blessed with an abundance of energy...! You are crawling around like crazy... You love to play with your toys.... and of course it's very obvious that you love to have your picture taken...

Your Mom and I want to spend every minute of our day with you. We'd much rather pass the time playing with you and being involved in every aspect of your growing up years than to do anything else...!

Elijah, You are one amazing baby, that's for sure...! As you look back and read these lines when you are older just know that I am considering these the best days of my life so far as I've been alive. You have just completely made my life, you sweet little baby...! I thank the good Lord every day for you and lift you up to heaven in prayer constantly.

More Crawling Photos

Elijah is crawling all around now... And he's moving with pretty good speed, too...! When he does finally start walking he's going to be a handful to keep up with...!

Action Photo

Baby Elijah is in 'Full Crawl' mode now... Here is one of his many action photos... I think he'll be walking early, too. He seems extremely strong for his age (almost 8 months), and is already constantly trying to pull himself up...

He is such a joy... I love that baby so much....! And I'm missing him right now because he and Monica just left for a quick trip to Tennessee. They won't be back until late tomorrow evening...Sigh.... :(

The Perfect Seat

The 'Bumbo' seat was a present from Grandma Judy and Grandpa Arno... As you can see it helps Elijah sit upright. He loves the Bumbo...! Mom and Dad do, too...!

Looking Back to 2005

Back in the later part of December Elijah was just starting to eat with a spoon and drink from a glass. Now he wants to take the spoon and feed himself...! He's really becoming more agile every day. He can sit up all by himself and he still hasn't mastered the art of the forward crawl but he's very, very close. All in all, Elijah is doing great and he's a huge source of joy in our lives. He's such a happy, smiley baby. He's our Ambassador of Smiles...!

A Blast from the Past

Here's Elijah back in October 2005 when we still lived in Houston on Arncliffe Street. He has grown so much since then... He has a lot more hair now, he's sitting up on his own... He can use his hands much better than before.

He's getting very vocal... He laughs alot. I can't wait until he starts talking...!

The Sippy

Here's Elijah with his sippy cup... He likes that alot, but he also likes to drink from a real cup too... In fact, one of our techniques to get him to settle down in a restaurant is to give him a drink of water from a real glass. (we hold it, of course...) As You can see in this photo he's able to use his hands and fingers very well, now...!

Here's a nice photo of Elijah and Mom. Elijah has out grown many of his baby hats and we are currently looking for bigger baby hats for him to keep his sensitive baby skin from getting too much sun...

Elijah Will Crawl Any Day Now...!

We couldn't find Elijah's warm baby hat one day so he wore one of my old winter caps. We thought he looked like a Russian Baby so I call this photo: 'Comrad Baby'

Elijah Notes: Elijah should crawl any day now... He's getting stronger and stronger. It could even be today...! He enjoyed his first Sunday afternoon tennis social last week and stayed in his portable play pen most of the time. He looked very cute wearing his white tennis hat. I'll post some of those photos soon.

Elijah Turned 7 Months Old On Feb 28

Update: Elijah is getting ready to start crawling any day now. He's sitting up on his own pretty well now. His favorite new drink is gatorade propel kiwi strawberry flavor...!

Elijah hangs out with his daddy at the tennis shop a couple of hours every day. He usually sleeps most of the time, but when he's awake he watches daddy string racquets.

OK, so I admit it. I'm a messy eater. I always get food stuck in my mustache, beard, or dripped on my shirt. And apparently I've passed the 'messy eating' gene on to my son... Sorry Elijah...!

Dear Elijah,

Just a quick message from Dad. Sorry I haven't posted in a few weeks. Things are going well, we've just been extremely busy lately. Your mom and I are woking on slowing down a little and trying to carve out more quality family time. But right now You do a pretty good job of managing our schedules for us...!

You and mom and I went to Houston for a Valentines dinner last night. You had a great time. It was your first Valentines Day...!

I just wanted you to know how much we all love you. You're an awesome baby...! And we couldn't imagine our lives without you...!

Lots of 'Firsts' for Elijah

Elijah has had lots of 'first time' experiences lately. Here is a photo of the first time he ate baby food. It was also his first time to use a spoon...!

Dear Elijah,

You just celebrated your 6th month birthday on January 28...! I can't help but think what a better world this planet earth is for having you in it...! You make everyone smile. You are so sweet and loving. For sure you have brought abundant joy to this family. We all love you very much. You are our most precious gift from God...!

In the past couple of weeks you have learned to drink from a glass. You love to do that. I think becuase you have watched us so many times... When we present you a glass of water, you devour it like a man who has been lost in the desert for days...!

You still love your Einstein play set. You love strolls in the baby carriage. And you are a very well behaved baby while your mom and I practice tennis and work out. At the age of six months You have already attended many hours of drills and lessons. You've watched your brother compete in a zat and gran prix tournament. You've even been to a pro exhibition tournament. I think you'll definitely grow up feeling comfortable on the tennis court...!

You're an Aewsome Baby and I love you...!
